EImpression DJs has the privilege of working as a preferred DJ Supplier at Gunners Barracks for almost 15 years.  Our DJs have worked at thousands of weddings and are all very familiar with the unique layout of this historic venue.  One of the lovely features of this venue is that you can choose to have your wedding ceremony as well as your reception onsite, whether it is an intimate day wedding or a celebration that goes until midnight.

Weddings at Gunners Barracks

Impression DJs can cater for the music for the Wedding Ceremony as well as the Pre Dinner music which guests can hear as they enjoy Canapes on the Harbour Terrace whilst the Bridal party is having photos onsite or at numerous stunning nearby locations. The locations that are most popular for Wedding ceremonies are the centrally located and secluded Sandstone Courtyard as well as the Harbour Terrace which offers panoramic views of Sydney Harbour. This can also be completely enclosed in case of inclement or wet weather, a fantastic Plan B.

The DJ is able to set up in a variety of locations at this wedding venue. If we provide music for the wedding ceremony we would set up discreetly in the Drawing room at the rear of the Sandstone Courtyard. If the dancefloor is set up in the Drawing room during the colder months or in case of wet weather, your DJ will set up there. The DJ can also set up in the Sandstone Courtyard after the wedding ceremony as well, so when the dancing begins they are a focal point for entertainment and hours of fun in the warmer months.  Some couples enjoy handing out sparklers to guests for the Bridal Dance as well as farewells at the conclusion of the evening which makes for atmospheric and vibrant photos.

The DJ brings a state of the art mobile sound system with a digital mixing desk and computer as well as lighting for the dance floor, speakers and a wireless digital microphone. Your DJ can “Patch” into the In-house Sound system at Gunners Barracks, which connects the DJ to all of the spaces, and the volume can be adjusted accordingly during the event.

The DJ will liaise with the Wedding Celebrant if we are supplying the music for the Wedding Ceremony, as well as the Functions manager running the event as well as staying in close contact with Wedding MC during the event. Your DJ  can certainly guide and help the MC feel confident if they are new to this role. We also have a few highly experienced DJs who can also take care of the Master of Ceremony duties and have done so at many weddings during the years at Gunners Barracks.
